This guide shows how to remove the tire from the wheel of a Trek 820 bicycle. No special skills or tools are required, although purpose-made bicycle tire removal tools are available that may make the job easier. This guide will show how to remove the tire without any special tools.

    • Locate the valve stem and remove the valve stem cap if one is present.

Be very careful using a screwdriver to unseat the tire as it is very likely you will pinch and thus ruin the tube. Better to buy several tire levers at any bike shop - they are inexpensive and made for this job.
