Format the Flash DIsk to APPLE PARTITION MAP (use disk utility) which is what powerpc systems recognize as boot partitions. Choose "custom install" to uncheck all the extra's before your install. A OS should use only about 5GB so you should be good to go. If the installer says you need more HD space then copy a bare install from a larger HD using one of the 3rd party apps available.
