The laptop was completely un responsive with just the changing light

I followed the battery replacement guide to get the battery out from there it was a case of removing the remaining connectors lifting the motherboard out, removing the heatsink and putting it all back together.

The screws that hold the heatsink on are pretty stiff - i used a bit of PTFE spray.
