Background
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 is a point-and-shoot camera announced by Panasonic on January 5th, 2014. Compared to other cameras, the ZS40 is unique as it has a built-in GPS feature, which allows for instantaneous geotagging of your photos. Although referred to as a “pocket camera”, the ZS40 boasts a 30x zoom with an 18-megapixel sensor. In addition to this, the ZS40 has an electronic viewfinder with 100% field of view, allowing for pictures to be taken even if you cannot see the rear LCD screen. For a “pocket camera”, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 has a lot of unique and high-end features going for it.
Identification
The camera is black and dark metallic gray. You can identify your Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS40 by the model and serial numbers printed on a label on the bottom of the camera next to the camera mount socket.
