Heres what I would do. Sell your laptop to iFixit. Last year in September I sold my two year old laptop to them. It was a white macbook with many cracks and had some liquid damages. I got 600 for it.Then I went on Apples refurbished page and bought a unibody macbook for 994 so I only paid $394. :). Try doing this. Refurbished computers are exactly the same as new. Good Luck
The problem is probably your temperature sensors. If i was you i would buy a fan or a fridge :) and keep it on it while being used. Maybe you could turn it a permeant desktop.
Every time you lose service, a much faster way to get service is to turn airplane mode on and off. Also, have you updated your iPhone to the latest software? If you haven't you should do it. And if all this does not work, try restoring your iPhone and get it swapped out at the genius bar. But don't tell them you dropped it. They have no way to find out! Also un-jail break your phone before you take it there.
