there's a small square of glue gum near the middle 4mm screw (from step 2). It holds the black plastic part and the LCD screen together. You can see the square gum on step 4 photo.
You'll have to pull a bit (gently) to detach the screen.
I had a 15cm SATA cable, which is too short to reach an SSD under the Optical Drive. I ended up putting the SSD right on top of the hard drive (then 15cm is just enough).
How do you disconnect the ribbon cable? Just pull it?
actually it's not a ZIF connector, so don't try to pull/push the grey “box”, you'll break it.
It's a basic connector/socket : just gently pull the ribbon.
you can see it for example (at 7”20’)

I got
- two 4mm screws on the left (golden-ish)
- one 3mm screw on the right (silver)
(rather than “two 3mm and one 5mm”)

be careful when detaching the top cover : there's a small metallic part that is loose and will fall.
This part is a ~10mm bent metal strip, with a screw hole.
When in place it holds with the long screw from the battery compartment (step 8)
and unclip the top hat of the pop-up flash, then push the flash back in place.
This is needed to be able to remove completely the top cover.
first, detach the ZIF connector

the other screw (on the top) must be removed too
