Sorry it took me this long to answer this query. I've tried searching and I honestly have not found any data re this. So I went ahead and did it. I use a Zenbook UX32VD and this too has a full HD variant. The answer to this question, yes it is doable, using the ifixit teardown guide I replaced my old 720p screen with a 1080p model. Works well! Now the text looks so sharp and the screen so much better. I hope I was able to help.
