Prior to joining iFixit, I worked at DriveSavers data recovery in engineering and CTO roles. I've spent 25 years in the data storage and data recovery industries, working on everything from old 20MB hard drives in 1987, to the state-of-the-art in solid state technologies and everything mobile. At DriveSavers I was responsible for strategic partnerships, academic collaborations and industry thought leadership. I worked in the technical community with leading storage designers, manufacturers and industry groups focused on solid-state drive technologies and tools. Prior to that I also worked at Adobe and a few other now extinct hardware and software providers.
So I currently attend the great University of Life and all of the adventures that come with it :-) But formally, I hold a BA in Communications and IATECH from the University of Wisconsin-Madison (Go Badgers, go Packers!), and a Data Communications Engineering certificate from UC Berkeley Extension.
Here I am on Lambeau Field with my dad, bother and boys!
My life outside of work is abundant and fabulous with two awesome boys, Wilder and Sage, and my Goddess of a life partner, Deneene. We live in Guerneville, CA out in the Redwood trees, amongst the bounty of great food and beverage producers and and wine country friends.
This is Armstrong Valley where I live.
I can sometimes be found in Arenal, Costa Rica at our other home and birthplace of our son Sage. And lastly, I love to garden organically, fish, forage and hunt locally, know the producers of my food when I can, and spend almost as much time in the kitchen as I do with technology.
Thank you for the opportunity to work with you all.
Here I am in Mexico last year with Deneene. Good times!
