I'm trying to repair my earbuds with mic headset, I'm trying to use an already spliced open trrs plug and wire that i know works, the plug and wire were part of a mono(one ear) with mic headset, it came with my ps4 and is the same one that comes with the psp & vita. Ive had 2 ps4 "lvl 1 pnp" headsets, one from Afterglow and one from Onn, they both broke, in different spots. The Afterglows wiring broke at the usual place, where the plug and wire connect. The Onn I'm not sure but its between the speaker/mic or the mute/volume control. Now the earbud/mic headset broke or inside the back of the speaker, I used to be able to take the skinny, tiny wire and wrap it around the outside of the single earbud worked great till the inevitable happened. Then bought a PS4 lvl 1 pnp Afterglow mono head set. Worked great till the plug/wire connection failed, lastly i got some earbuds w/mic headset forgot the brand but have great sound, mic isn't flat nor overpowering, but they broke at...

But first the basics of wiring a speaker, take any RCA Cable and cut it open, inside you'll see a copper wire wrapped around a sheath of plastic which inside has more copper, the outer wire is ground, common, -, etc…, the inner wire is positive, +, input, hot, etc… this is the basis of speaker wiring if you gave to that 2 channels, or Left & Right, if you cut off the plug and stripback the outer plastic sheath you would find the same, however if you plug an RCA plug in the outer ring part is ground the point in the middle is positive for both right & left with is 5 wires. 4 connections being made, but if you look at a headphone plug there are only 3 metal parts separated by 2 black separation rings, thats cause for headphones to get enough power to be loud in your ear but not blocks away, plus it has to do this a very low impedence wattage to not burts your...
