@lilymahaffee Great repair guide! I only have one suggestion. You should include and image of removing the rubber bumpers from the back/bottom case. This guide made this step mimimal considering the different screw sizes. Also, iFixit didnt seem to have the battery, therefore a suggestion for a 3rd Party supplier (Staples, Microcenter, etc) within the what you need section would be appreciated.
I have the same issue recently when asking UbreakIT if they could fix my display as well. Is the MCU issue an attempt to lock the repairability to $APPL for both the M1 && M2 models?
Super easy guide. Parts quality may vary depending on dents or other aesthetics. I recommend buying plastic feet just in case you need them and as a backup to existing inventory.
Ah nothing like a good ole top case replacement to remind me to buy spudgers, project mat, kapton tape and others. This Mid-2011 repair guide helped me shake the rust of fleeting Genius Bar skills. Great job
@jchen202 Just curious, what is the Battery Wattage of this HP Envy? I noticed your guide contains a glimpse of the DC IN CONNECTOR , which seems to be identical to my HP ENVY X360 - 15M-BP112DX. How idid your repairs turn out? If possible, would you be able to provide a picture of the DC IN Connector?
Heat Gun and metal spudger is definitely the way to go. I recommend taking all ESD precautions as well. As a former Mac Genius this is vital for not a damaging the LCD and LVDS cable. I am having a tough time determining why the display wont come on after repairing the front assembly. Any ideas?
