Hello to all after 4years. No i didnt fix the MBPro, i got a new one instead :-), but… seeing it beeing dusty on the shelve really hurts my feelings, so i thought maybe ill give it a go. But before i do, i was wondering what is the latest OS that can run seamlessly on my good old MBPro? :-)
So i guess the memory module is mounted on the logic board? And it cannot be unmounted, i have to change logic board? Is that the scenario? Is there a guide for this?
Ok, i decided to try the reflow procedure, since it was working for many other users who have tried it! So i covered the MBPro in a blanket and turned it on for 40min, it got quite hot! Then i shut it down and restarted it, it booted fine without any issues and worked as if it was brand new! Just to make sure i restarted it a couple of times, all seemed it was ok! Of course im not expecting this to last for ever, but in case it doesn't work again, il go straight in replacing the logic board!
It would be a good idea to put some sticky tape on those two DVI display port holes, so that you never make the mistake to insert (when reassemble) any of the screws!
