I had the same issue with a different laptop and a different ssd, I ended up having to connect it to another computer and go so disk management and configure the drive. Once it was done then I installed it in the laptop and was able to install windows on it. Every thing worked fine after that.
Not sure what really happened here but I was getting ready to order a new screen and home button for the phone, The customer was needing their phone back so I Turned on the on screen home button and showed them how to use it. I put the phone back together with the original home button and everything worked just fine.
First check to make sure the cables are connected all the way, Next I would check each cable for the slightest bent connector or tear in the cable. May have to use a magnifing lens, even a slight wrinkle in the cable can cause damage. If you used any heat to separate the screen you may could have damaged the chip connected to the home button.
If this was bought about 1-2 months ago it should still be under warranty. First thing I would do is go to hp support page to see if it can be fixed under warranty before you replace or do anything else with it.
I used 2 different keyboards and mouse. Sorry to keep things going but I ended up reinstalling windows from a usb drive and this seemed to work. I was just getting frusterated, as I have never seen anything like this before and I had the customer hounding me on getting it fixed. The customer had already tried to restore the system from the restore from the restore partition. I'm thinking that something was wrong with that partition. The customer had a friend that had been in the IT department for 20+ years and was trying to tell them that the hard drive was bad. I did run test on the hard drive and everything checked out just fine. I normally do not just rush in reinstalling windows like this as I like to find out what is going on so if I see this again I know what is going on. Thanks you for the help and ideas.
First thing I would try is connecting it to an external monitor. If the screen on the external monitor works fine, then it could be the cable has came loose or need a new screen. If the external monitor also does the same then it could be something such as a bad driver or bad video card.
