Canon PowerShot SD960 IS Troubleshooting
- “Lens Error Restart Camera” message
- Screen is Not Coming On

- Camera Not Charging
The camera screen gives an error message that says, "Lens Error Restart Camera"
If the shutter and/or lens is physically stuck in an open position, grit or other physical obstruction may be blocking the shutter. Use compressed air or a hair dryer on the cool setting to clear the obstruction.
Try restarting the camera. If this doesn’t resolve the issue, try replacing the lens.
Make sure your battery is fully charged and the battery door is properly closed. If this does not resolve the issue, replace the battery.
If the camera has water or impact damage, a circuit on the logic board may go bad. Make sure your battery is fully charged. If your camera still will not turn on at all, with no lights or display coming on, this is likely the case. Replace or repair logic board.
If the screen is broken or cracked, but the device still powers on, replace the LCD screen.
Try restarting the camera. If this does not resolve the issue replace LCD Screen.
If the screen is broken or damaged, replace LCD Screen.
The camera flash is not working properly or at all.
Check the camera settings and make sure the flash is turned on.
Make sure the battery is fully charged. A low battery may affect the flash function. If charging the battery doesn't resolve the issue, the flash unit is likely faulty. Replace the flash.
Check the camera settings and make sure the self-timer isn't selected.
The camera does not recognize the inserted memory card.
Make sure the battery is fully charged and the memory card is inserted properly.
Try the memory card in another device to see if it is functioning properly. If it does not work in another device, try replacing the memory card.
If the memory card works in another device, the problem is likely the memory card slot.
The camera or battery is not charging when connected.
If the indicator lights on the charger are malfunctioning or behaving strangely this may indicate that the problem is with the charger. If you think this is the case, unplug the charger from the wall immediately and do not plug your battery into the charger. Inspect the charger for damages; do not use if you can see physical damages to the charger or cord because of risk of fire. Replace the charger.
Make sure the battery door is closed properly or the camera won't charge. If this doesn't resolve the issue, replace the battery.
