CyberPowerPC Fangbook HX6 Troubleshooting

This wiki will provide tips, tricks, and information regarding fixes for common problems with the device.

Sticky Keys

Your keys are physically sticking to the keyboard.

Object stuck under key

If one of your keys can’t be pressed, or feels like it has some resistance, there might be something stuck under the key cap. The simple fix in this case is to take a small, slender object and very gently pop off the key cap. You can then remove whatever is under the key cap and press the key cap back on.

Spilled liquid on keyboard

It is possible that after spilling a liquid onto the laptop (especially anything sticky, i.e. soda) that the actual keyboard sensors may be affected. In this case you could remove the key cap’s as mentioned above and try cleaning the key sensors carefully with a Q-tip gently wet with warm water. However, it is possible you will have to send it back to the manufacturer for repairs.

Laptop Not Charging

Laptop fails to charge or will not hold a charge when plugged in.

Broken adapter

First, try using another power adapter to charge the laptop. If the laptop charges normally in these situations, then the power adapter could be broken. Make sure that all the cords are firmly connected, and that the connector is not bent or damaged. If the issue still persists, you will have to buy a new adapter and/or check the charger port.

Loose adapter port

If the connector and adapter are functioning properly, but the adapter is still loose and will not transmit power to the laptop, then there is likely an issue with the motherboard, since the adapter port is part of the motherboard. In this case, you can follow our adapter port repair guide HERE.

Faulty battery

If the laptop will turn on only when directly plugged in and/or won’t hold a charge, then there is likely an issue with the battery. You will have to order a replacement battery and follow our battery replacement guide HERE.

Charger light not working

[If the charger light on the laptop does not light up when the charger is plugged in, check the problems mentioned above to be sure that the laptop is actually receiving a charge. If the laptop is receiving a charge and the light still does not function, it is likely that the LED powering the light burned out. In order to replace the lightbulb, order a compatible LED lightbulb and follow our replacement guide HERE.]

Unresponsive Screen / Lines across screen

The screen is unresponsive in areas or there are lines going across the screen.

Poor quality screen/ Wear and tear on screen

The screen that the Fangbook HX6 comes with is reported to be of low quality in some instances. Damaged or worn screens can lead to internal damage if left unaddressed for too long. In order to replace the screen, order a compatible screen and follow our screen replacement guide HERE.

Faulty graphics processor/co-processor

[Lines and other artifacts on the screen could be a sign that the graphics processor in the laptop is starting to malfunction. You can follow our repair guide for the graphics processor HERE.]

Trackpad is Unresponsive

The trackpad (touchpad) for the laptop is not sensing touch.

Out of date drivers

Make sure that the trackpad software is fully up to date. To do this, make sure the laptop is connected to the internet, then go to Control Panel > Device Manager. Find “trackpad” and right click to bring up a list of options. Select “update driver” to install updated drivers.

Disabled Trackpad

Inability to recognize touch could indicate a software issue. Be sure that the laptop's trackpad is enabled in the system. In order to enable the touchpad, plug a mouse into one of the laptop’s USB ports. On Windows, click on Start > Settings > Devices. From here, click on “Mouse and Touchpad,”, then go to the Related Settings. Click on Additional Mouse Options and check if your trackpad has been disabled. If it has, click to enable it.

Restart the trackpad

Sometimes hardware just needs to be quickly restarted to start working again. To do this, go to Control Panel > Device Manager and select “trackpad.” Right click and select “Disable Device.” Wait a few moments then right click again and select “Enable Device.” Test the trackpad to ensure it is enabled.
