If your Dyson Corrale HS03 hair straightener turns off shortly after turning on, follow this guide for possible solutions.
Battery Failure
The battery is not fully charged
Put the device on the charger for 90 minutes, then check to see if the same issue arises.
The battery has a cell imbalance
If the battery was charged or discharged too fast, the battery cells could become imbalanced. Leave on charger overnight. If this doesn't work, you will need to individually check battery voltages with the device taken apart.
If the issues persist, try replacing the batteries.
Heating Element Failure
Overheating
If the device senses it's getting too hot, it will shut off to prevent damage. Let the device cool for 20-30 minutes and try using the device again.
Thermal Vents
Check to see if the thermal vents on the side of the heating elements are clogged.
Heating Element
Test the heating element with a multimeter; any change in resistance will give incorrect signals to the main board. If this is the case, follow this guide to replace the heating element.
Degraded Thermal Protection
Thermal Pads
If the heating elements are not at fault, check the thermal pads below. If these are damaged or misaligned, the device will think it's hotter than it is.
Resistors are burnt
If the thermal pads fail, the resistors that lie under them will no longer be able to regulate current. Use a multimeter to see if these resistors are damaged, if they are not, then replace the thermal pads.
Thermal Fuses
If the thermal fuses get too hot, they break the circuit to prevent an electrical fire.
Damaged Outer Casing
Shell Misalignment
If any part of the outer casing is misaligned, certain electrical connections may have been compromised.
Marring
If the outer casing is marred in any way, it is possible that it was dropped, and components could be damaged inside. Follow this guide to replace the outer casing.
Faulty Control Boards
Connections
Make sure the internal connections are secure.
Failures
Check for any component failures on the board, like burnt-out chips.
If there are any chip failures, you may need to replace the board.
