Laptop Won’t Turn On

The laptop doesn’t show any sign of powering on.

Faulty Charging Cable

When you plug in the charging cable make sure the charge light is on. If it does not light up the charging cable or adapter is faulty or broken, you may need to buy a new charging cable.

Dead Battery

If your charging cable is working and the charge light is on, or the laptop only works when the adapter is plugged in regardless of how long you charge the device, the battery is faulty. Replace the battery with this guide.

Faulty Motherboard

If your computer is still unresponsive and shows no signs of powering up the motherboard needs to be replaced. Follow this guide for motherboard replacement.

No Display

There is no display on the screen and you know the laptop is powered on.

Brightness Needs Adjusting

Try playing with the brightness control button or switch, there should be a fn key that increases brightness, the key has a picture that looks like a sun.

Broken Bulb

If none of the above solutions work the backlight bulb might have failed and the screen will need to be replaced.

Keyboard Problems

Keys on your keyboard are unresponsive.

Keyboard Driver Error

Start by uninstalling/reinstalling the keyboard driver. Go to "Device Manager" and uninstall the keyboard driver then reboot your laptop. It will reinstall the driver automatically.

Broken Keyboard

If the whole keyboard still fails to respond replace it with this guide.

Disks Not Reading

You just inserted a disk, but your lifebook won't play it.

Poor Disk Condition

The disk you inserted might be in poor condition. Try another disc in your computer. If this other disc plays, then your original disc may be damaged. If neither disc works, then the problem may be your optical drive.

Broken Optical Drive

If no disks play on your optical drive, the whole thing needs to be replaced. Follow this guide to replace your optical drive.

Overheating

Laptop repeatedly becomes overheated and will make the laptop very hot.

Blocked Exhaust Ports

When using the laptop try using it on hard flat surfaces rather than on uneven surfaces such as blankets and pillows. Hard flat surfaces increases the chances of better air intake. Try using a can of compressed air to clear away the intake grills to the fan.

Broken Fan

If laptop remains to overheat, then the fan needs to be replaced.

No Wireless Connection

You try to connect to the internet, but your Lifebook won't get a signal

Outdated Driver

Plug one end of the Ethernet cable int o the LAN port on the laptop, go to settings, then Device Manager. Expand the "Network Adapters" list, right click on the network adapter you are trying to repair and select properties. Click the "Driver" tab in the window and select "Update Driver."

Faulty Wireless Adapter

If your device still wont connect to any wireless network replace the wireless adapter using this guide.

Sudden Shutdown Occurred

Cannot get past the reboot information window .

Utility Page Error

To solve this issue, try turning on your device. An information window will pop up but will not let you proceed to fully turn back on. At this point, locate and press the [ESC] button on the top left corner of the keyboard. An alternative is to press the [F2] key to inspect the Utility page of your device and adjust the Boot Menu to your preferences.

Not Enough RAM

If your computer crashes during normal operation, crashes during memory intensive tasks, or beeps and will not boot up, this means you have bad RAM or that you do not have enough RAM. Replace RAM on your computer.
