Fan will not turn on
No matter what you do, you can't get your fan to turn on.
Make sure the fan is plugged into a power source
If the fan is plugged into an outlet and still won't turn on try plugging it into a different outlet before disassembling the fan; it may be an issue with the outlet and not your fan.
Damaged Switch
If the switch is damaged it will likely need to be replaced. Refer to the switch installation guide.
Damaged/pinched power cord
With the fan unplugged form any outlet, physically check the power cord to ensure it is not damaged or pinched at any point. If the cord appears intact, refer to the AC Power Cord disassembling guide to check the AC cord inside the bottom of the fan.
Pinched wires
If the wires in the fan are pinched, you will need to straighten them out. Refer to the wire installation guide to gain access to the wires.
Broken motor
If the issue is neither the switch nor the wires, the problem is most likely within the fan's motor and the motor will need to be replaced. Refer to the motor installation guide.
Blades turn slowly
Your fan turns on but the blades spin slowly.
The fan is dirty
If the fan is old it will likely have gotten dirty. Something may also have gotten stuck inside the fan. The fan blades and the motor will require cleaning. Follow the Teardown guide for dis-assembly, and clean appropriately what is necessary. Here are some tips to doing so:
- Make sure to unplug the power cord from its outlet before cleaning.
- Plastic parts should be cleaned with temperate soap and a mildly wet cloth. Carefully remove soap layer with clean water.
- Make sure to not allow any liquid to enter the interior motor.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before putting back together and connecting to power source.
Damaged/pinched wiring
The wires may be pinched somewhere. Refer to the wire repair guide to reveal the wiring. Be sure to un-pinch all wires by simply straightening .
Broken motor
If the fan is clean and the motor is receiving power then the issue is likely to be within the motor and the motor will need to be replaced. Refer to the fan motor installation guide to replace the fan with a new one.
Excessive Vibration
The fan turns on but it won't stop shaking or making noise.

The fan blades are bent
If the fan blades themselves are damaged then the fan blades will need to be replaced. Follow the fan blade installation guide to remove and replace the fan blades.
Oscillation mechanism is not working
Your fan won't turn from side to side.
Broken oscillation knob
The oscillation mechanism operates the rotation of the fan on the vertical axis. If the fan doesn't oscillate it is likely because the knob assembly is broken or doesn't reach the oscillating motor. Follow the Oscillation Mechanism installation guide to replace the oscillation mechanism.
