HP Mini 110-3735dx Troubleshooting
Released September 2011, identified by model number 110-3735dx
- Computer won't turn on

The HP Mini 110-3735dx will not boot.
If the indicator light, located on the power switch, is blinking white, your HP Mini 110-3735dx is in sleep mode. Try sliding the power switch or pressing any button on the keyboard or touchpad. This should wake the HP Mini 110-3735dx up, and you’ll see the screen turn on. If the screen doesn’t turn on, and your indicator light is still blinking, you will need to slide and hold the power switch for 5 seconds to turn your HP Mini 110-3735dx completely off. Then slide it briefly again to turn the your HP Mini 110-3735dx back on.
If the indicator light, located on the power switch, is lit solid white, your HP Mini 110-3735dx is on. If the screen is not on, try pressing the "F4" key on your keyboard. This will enable your screen again.
If the HP Mini 110-3735dx is not turning on when you slide the power switch, the battery might not be charged. Plug the power adapter into both an outlet and your HP Mini 110-3735dx. Then slide the power switch again.
Check if the power adapter is plugged into both your HP Mini 110-3735dx and a working outlet. If your computer is not turning on when you slide the power switch and the power adapter is plugged in, the adapter is most likely faulty. You may need to purchase a replacement power adapter.

The keys on your keyboard won't respond or appear to be broken.
If you cannot press the key down, its may be stuck in place. To fix this, remove the key, and clean any dirt you find. To remove the key, it’s suggested to use a key remover. However, you can use anything thin enough to fit under the key as long as you're careful not to damage the key. There may be something under the key and not on the keyboard, so make sure to check both. Once you've cleaned the key, place the key onto its correct position and then push down until you hear it click in place.
If the keyboard becomes too dirty, keys may no longer work properly. Clean your keyboard by removing the keys that seem not to work and removing any dirt that is there. Make sure to check both under the keys and on the keyboard. Once you've cleaned the key, place the key onto its correct position and then push down until you hear it click in place.
If all the keys on the keyboard are not working, then you will need to replace the keyboard. Replace the keyboard with this guide.
If a key is missing from your keyboard, you can replace them. Once you have a replacement key, just place the key on the correct position and press down until you hear a click. A key that is not made for this keyboard might work, but you should try to only use the keys made for the keyboard.
The touchpad won't respond.
If you have a mouse plugged in or connected by Bluetooth, your computer may disable the touchpad. To enable the touchpad, you will have to disconnect the mouse. You could also change the setting by going to Settings, then devices, then mouse and touchpad. Here there a setting called "Leave touchpad on when a mouse is connected". Make sure its on, and you're touchpad will now work with a mouse connected.
If the touchpad is not responding, the touchpad may be disabled. To re-enable it, you will need to go through your settings. First click the windows button and search for "Device Manager". Click the "Device Manager" results and wait for the pop-up. Expand the "Mice and other pointing devices" by clicking the arrow next to it. Then right click the items, and check if its says "enable". If it doesn’t, click enable, and your touchpad should now work.
If the touchpad is still not responding, then your touchpad is most likely broken. This will require you to replace it, or contact HP to schedule a repair.
Part of the screen or the whole screen is discolored.
If your screen is discolored, then your screen's drivers might be out of date. To update these, you will need to go through your settings. First click the windows button and search for "Device Manager". Click the "Device Manager" results and wait for the pop-up. Expand the "Display adapters" by clicking the arrow next to it. Then right click the items that appear in the drop-down menu, and click "Update Driver Software". A pop-up should appear. Click on the "Search automatically for updated driver software". Once it’s done, Expand the "Monitors" by clicking the arrow next to it. Then right click the items that appear in the drop-down menu and click "Update Driver Software". A pop-up should appear. Click on the "Search automatically for updated driver software". Once this is done, your drivers are updated and your computer screen should be back to normal. You will need to restart your computer after to allow the new drivers to have an effect.
If your screen is still discolored, then the screen is most likely damaged. You can replace the screen by following this guide.
Screen turns blue and has an error message.
If your computer is overheating, a blue screen may occur. To prevent this, you should clean the vents and fans on the computer. Use a compressed air can to blow out the dust from the vents and fans.
If you're HP Mini 110-3735dx is getting blue screens often, then the hardware might be faulty. The two most likely cause will be the hard drive and ram. You can replaces these to stop the blue screens messages. To replace the hard drive, try following this guide.
