If your laptop battery is dead, it should still work if it is connected to a voltage source. Plug in your laptop to a voltage source and power it on. The primary exhaust ports for the HP Pavilion Touchsmart 10-e010nr are located on the left hand side and underneath the computer and should appear as a series of holes/slits. Check inside of these openings and ensure that there is nothing blocking it such as dust or entrenched objects. If there is dust or any small objects, use a dry q-tip or a napkin and dust anything from these holes. An additional solution is to prop the computer up by its battery and to put a fan on the side or behind the computer while it runs. This allows for more cool air to be taken in by the computer.

A simple mistake that many people make is forgetting to restart their computer every once in a while. If you are not planning to use the computer, power it off.
