Lenovo Thinkpad E570 Troubleshooting

The Touchpad or trackpad of the Lenovo Thinkpad E570 is not responding to any gestures.

The touchpad is not tracking and there is no response/a delayed response to commands. The touchpad (mousepad) is unable to click leading to no actions being done. Consider resetting/restarting the computer settings.

Open Device Manager through the windows tab at the bottom or by searching it in the search bar at the home screen. Once the device manager is open, update or reinstall the touchpad drivers, making sure the latest update is installed.

Go to the touchpad settings and increase the sensitivity. To open the touchpad settings in Windows 10, type "touchpad" in the search box, and then click on Touchpad settings. Adjust the touchpad sensitivity using the drop-down list.

The release mechanism is malfunctioning and not allowing the disk to be ejected from the laptop when the eject key is pressed.

Insert a paperclip into the manual eject hole.

Make sure the power supply is connected and the laptop is powered.

Click on the disk icon (on the computer) and then click eject.

Certain keys have been popped off or are jammed deeper into the keyboard to the point that it no longer will respond to being tapped.

Spray between keys with a can of compressed air.

Remove individual keys and clean the area underneath.

If the key is broken replace either individual key or the entire keyboard

The laptop screen suddenly takes you to a blue screen with the message “:( Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart.” where access to any computer function is impossible. The only options the user is given are to either troubleshoot the problem or restart the computer.

This error usually occurs when Windows or a Windows Update was downloaded incorrectly or is acting improperly on the computer. To fix the issue, Windows will need to be reinstalled on the computer. Open up the Start tab, then the Settings tab followed by the Update & Security tab and click on the Recovery tab. Once in the Recovery tab, click on the “Get started” button under the heading “Reset this PC”. Backup any data you have on your hard drive before going any further as this will do a full reset of your drive. Once the drive is backed up, click on “Remove Everything” so that a proper reinstall occurs.

When a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) occurs, it means that the computer’s operating system has run into an issue with operating safely causing it to restart. When the BSoD happens, write down the Stop code located at the bottom of the page. Once restarted, open the computer’s Settings through the Start button, open the Update & Security tab, and open the Troubleshoot tab. Once in the Troubleshoot area, locate the software that the Stop code from earlier is related to and click on it to run its troubleshoot. When the computer is done with the troubleshoot, click on “Apply Repairs” and the computer will automatically fix the issue. If the issue continues to occur, contact a Lenovo Support Team.

Open/unscrew the back of the laptop and locate the physical drive. Remove or replace the drive as needed. Screw on the back of the laptop and start the computer up again.

The camera is not showing the image. Black camera image.

Open the settings, go to the privacy settings, and click allow access for the specific application. Restart the program.

Close the application that is currently being used by the camera and restart your current program if needed.

Check the camera for cracks, dirt, dust, and protective covering on the lens; clean if dirty. Use a clean micro fabric cloth, cleaner, or damp cloth to clean the lens.
