Speaker
There is no audio coming from the device
Low Volume
Volume may be low, if there isn’t any sound coming from the speaker. You can go to GPS settings which is located at the bottom of your screen besides the pictures of tools. Click the setting, and then click on sound icon in order to change the volume.
Faulty Speaker
The speaker on GPS may be broken. Constantly using GPS with high volume might result in damaging the speaker. If a speaker is broken, you need to replace the speaker. Follow the Speaker Replacement Guide to safely replace the speaker.
Speaker connector is not plugged in
Your speaker's connector may be loose or disconnected. By following the Speaker Replacement Guide, connector can be easily reconnected.
Sticky Button
When trying to turn on the device, is hard to switch on the device with the button.
Dirt Build up
Dirt can sometimes finds its way through the buttons on a device, in this case the GPS causing damage or inability of usage. In the Buttons Replacement Guide you will find it helpful to help clean your starting button.
Battery
Although the Battery life is only around 30 minutes, sometimes when the charging connector is accidentally disconnected, the battery will keep the device from shutting down straight away. If device won't turn on without the charging connector, there might be a problem with the battery.
Faulty Charger
If the device is not turning on, try a different charger . After using a different charger, and the device is able to turn on with battery charging, you need a new charging cord.
Device is working but not charging
The device is working, but the charger won't charge the device. You might have a bad battery that does not work anymore. In this case, follow our Battery Replacement Guide and replace the battery.
Faulty battery
If the GPS shuts off immediately without connecting to the charger, you need a replacement battery. You can use our battery Replacement Guide.
Touchscreen
Device having a black screen or blurry screen.
Touchscreen is Damaged
Magellan Roadmate has a seven inches screen so you can easily tell if the screen is physically damaged or not. By looking at the screen, you can easily see the crack on the screen or if screen is shattered. In order to fix it, you need to replace it with a new screen. Loose Display Connector
The connector of the screen to the motherboard mught be loose, and by following the Touchscreen Replacement Guide,you can easily reconnect the touchscreen to the motherboard.
Faulty Screen
Magellan Roadmate 9055 has a 7’’ WVGA touchscreen. Users experience the GPS mostly through the touch screen, which means the screen is impacted every time users interact with the GPS. Screen is faulty when there is blurry screen or lines on the screen, and if the screen appears to be black when its turn on. There is Touchscreen Replacement Guide to guide you through replacing the screen. You might not need to replace the whole screen because sometimes the wire can be unattached.
Touch Screen feature does not work
Though Magellan Roadmate 9055 has a 7’’ WVGA touch screen, when it is not working, it does not matter how big of the touch screen the GPS got. Since the most interaction between the GPS and the users is via touch screen, when the device is not responding by the user's’ action even though the screen is displaying well, then the touch screen feature is malfunctioning and a new replacement is needed.
Motherboard

Faulty Motherboard
Motherboard from the GPS itself could be damaged or malfunctioned. If the device had been contacted with liquid, the motherboard can be short circuited by the fluid. You can repair the device by following our Motherboard Replacement Guide for motherboard.
