No Power
The DVD player will not turn on.
Faulty Power Chord
Unplug the DVD player from the AC power source and carefully inspect the power chord for any abrasions or cuts. If there are no visible damages, ensure that the AC power outlet has power to it and plug the power chord into the outlet. Press the power button to see if the device powers on. If there is still no power, there may be internal problems with the DVD player.
No Sound or Distorted Sound
There is a picture playing on the TV screen but there is no sound with the picture, or the sound is distorted.
Low Volume
Check that your TV is not on "mute" mode and that the volume on the TV is set at a reasonable level.
Input Source
Check to ensure that the DVD player is plugged into the correct input port on the TV.
Audio Connections
Make sure that all audio connections are properly and fully connected. If the audio plugs are not fully plugged in, the audio output will often come out distorted or broken.
The Buttons on the DVD Player Don't Work
There is no feedback from the DVD Player when the buttons on the device are pressed
Device Needs to Reboot
There is a technical issue with the DVD player. Disconnect the DVD player from the power source and leave it unplugged for at least 10 minutes. Reconnect the DVD player to the AC power source.
Disc Tray Won't Open
The disc tray does not open when the "eject" button is pushed.
Child Lock is On
Make sure that the "Child Lock" setting is disabled. If it is not disabled, disable it and try to eject the disk.
Reboot
Unplug the DVD player from the AC power source and leave it unplugged for at least 30 minutes. Reconnect the DVD player to power and press the "eject" button and see if the disk tray opens.
Remote Won't Work
The DVD player is not responding to commands given by the remote.
Batteries
Check to make sure that the remote has batteries in it and that the batteries are properly inserted. The batteries could also be weak or dead, causing the remote to stop working. If this is the case, replace the batteries.
Sensor
Make sure that there is nothing blocking the receptor on the DVD player that picks up the signals from the remote.
Disc Won't Play
When inserted, the disc will not play, or an error message appears.
Faulty Disc
Ensure that the disc is a disc that is compatible with the device and that the disc is not scratched or damaged. Also ensure that the disc is properly inserted.
Disc Reader
If possible, check to see if the disc works in another device. If it works in another device but not in this device, the disc reader is likely damaged and will need replaced.
