Is it the LCD lightning system that does not turn on ? Can you see a faint image of the desktop or the display is completely black ? Just light the display back panel Apple logo with a flashlight and check if you can see the desktop.

There's a gap at the display base between the front display bezel and the LCD panel. Maybe the liquid made its way there and damaged the inverter board but the LVDS (video) cable runs from the logic board to the top LCD panel so the only place where it could be liquid damaged is in the logic board LVDS socket but you say there were no liquid on the logic board so ?????
