Turns on when powered up but hangs after log in ...

Just wont go past the apple loggo and the spinning wheel....cleaned the fans and they are running but still no progress in the boot up progress?.tried all the resets but nothing seems to work...any suggestions? By the way tried shuffleing and removing one of the sticks but nothing is working...please help!
