If you are using a Microsoft Account then you will have to use this [https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4026971/microsoft-account-how-to-reset-your-password|link] to reset your password.  If you cant do this then you can still access your files by plugging the hard drive into another computer and accessing them that way.  If this is a local account and not a microsoft there is software that can reset the password easily.
