Laptop won't proceed past initial start  up checks.  The following 2  msgs  keep repeating  :

# Attempting to recover installation.
# Undoing changes made to your computer.
# I have tried to break cycle by series of turning on and off in quick sucession.  I read that a possible solution would be to try to start up in Safe Mode but I can't even get to this stage.  Every  time I turn on three same occurs.

I would like to know why this happens and more importantly,  is there dinnertime I can do?
