computer locked out after reset

i reset my computer to give it to my wife as a clean pc, but after the reset the computer is stuck at the sign in screen and wont log in to the old user profile. I've tried resetting it again, nothing, any help or ideas on how to fix that or how i can completely wipe the computer would be great.
