Is the eSIM carrier locked after SIM unlocking?

I put a dead AT&T test SIM in it and it took it so I can indeed confirm the physical SIM is unlocked and I no longer get the carrier not supported error on the physical SIM, but the eSIM only shows T-Mobile/Sprint, even after getting it unlocked but without the carrier not supported error. I was told the IMEI was clean so I got it setup on my 2nd phone number and did the 14-day/$100 balance unlock process. It's confirmed to be unlocked for the physical SIM, but I am still seeing 1 odd issue with the eSIM:
-[quote]
-*I am mentioning this to make my stance clear: My issue with SIM locked phones is how much of a absolute pain it is to make them unlocked like they should have been sold. AT&T has made it (with NO WAY out of their delay), T-Mobile makes you wait 1 year, or you have to put $100 down and wait 14 days (while it's annoying I couldn't activate it, dump $100 at the problem and poof the unlock away I do appreciate this option is available for T-Mobile Prepaid).
-
-[br]
-My issue is the carriers do not discount phones anymore so you end up paying the SAME PRICE as I pay, and because I buy them factory unlocked I own the phone outright like my Pixel 7, and it will be considered unlocked forever from the day you buy it to the end. Locked phones stopped being worth the trouble years ago due to the cost being higher then ripping the band-aid off and paying full price right there and then at Best Buy.
-
-
-
-For cheap (read: disposable) phones, this $100/14-day fix is not worth it; I can buy a superior factory unlocked device for the same price as the device because the math is easy: Take the $100 you'd use as a early unlock downpayment, put it towards buying it unlocked and consider it a "sunk cost".[br]
-Unless it has been done before you get it, these cheap devices cost more to unlock then their street value; I struck lucky with this 6a so I did it while I had more to gain with a expedited unlock vs to lose. A lot of these cheap phones are temporary devices, and will never qualify for it. Simply put, my issue with these is if they are locked you're better off throwing the device out or using it for parts, or if you were given the phone because someone else came to the same conclusion passing it on ***again*** and hoping they don't give up on it (and if they do, don't get mad). ***The cost to unlock the majority of these is about as much as a proper midrange flagship like a Pixel 6a or 7, so nobody will ever try. The only "downside" is your unlocked phone WORKS, but the carriers flag it as a "non-carrier braded" phone (which means nothing, it's the same phone without the SIM lock).***

-*I am mentioning this to make my stance clear: My issue with SIM locking phones is how much of a absolute pain AT&T has made it (with NO WAY out of their delay), as well as T-Mobile either making you wait a year to do this on prepaid or put $100 down to speed this up. It's not so much that the phone was locked (while it's annoying I couldn't activate it, dump $100 at the problem and poof the unlock away I do appreciate this option is available for T-Mobile Prepaid).[br]
-You end up paying the SAME PRICE as I would to just own the phone outright (or more) for the phones like how my Pixel 7 is factory unlocked and it can NEVER be SIM locked vs the "T-Mobile certified" SKU to avoid the non-carrier flag on their system, having to wait to unlock it and then putting $100 down to get it done. It costs more to buy phones locked unless you get lucky like I did.
+*I am mentioning this to make my stance clear: My issue with SIM locked phones is how much of a absolute pain it is to make them unlocked like they should have been sold.
-For cheap (read: disposable) phones, this $100/14-day fix is just not worth it; I can buy a superior factory unlocked device for the same price as the device, as well as considering the taking the $100 you'd need to rush it (and consider it a "sunk cost" to get it done) as a part of the cost to buy an unlocked version of the phone. By the time these age, nobody has done it or they used it as a temporary device, and not only is this budget phone carrier locked, it's also not worth spending $100 and waiting 14 days to get it done; you're better off throwing the device out or using it for parts, or if you were given the phone because someone else came to the same conclusion passing it on ***again*** because nobody will try because the money spent on the unlock of a old budget phone can be spent on a "a" Pixel, or proper midrange flagship. The only "downside" (because it isn't) is the carriers will flag it as a outside device... Like it matters.
+[br]
+My issue is the carriers do not discount phones anymore so you end up paying the SAME PRICE as I pay, and because I buy them factory unlocked I own the phone outright like my Pixel 7, and it will be considered unlocked forever from the day you buy it to the end. Locked phones stopped being worth the trouble years ago due to the cost being higher then ripping the band-aid off and paying full price right there and then at Best Buy.

+For cheap (read: disposable) phones, this $100/14-day fix is not worth it; I can buy a superior factory unlocked device for the same price as the device because the math is easy: Take the $100 you'd use as a early unlock downpayment, put it towards buying it unlocked and consider it a "sunk cost".[br]
+Unless it has been done before you get it, these cheap devices cost more to unlock then their street value; I struck lucky with this 6a so I did it while I had more to gain with a expedited unlock vs to lose.

Factory unlocked P7 (Google ROM, no Sprint reference):
My P7 is a "virgin" in the sense it was never carrier locked as it was sold factory unlocked, but the 6a still appears to have the eSIM locked down while my 7 shows all of the current US carriers except Sprint.
I put a dead AT&T test SIM in it and it took it so I can indeed confirm the physical SIM is unlocked but this is weird; I no longer get the "carrier not supported" error so I'm encouraged it's unlocked, but normally unlocked Pixels show the big 3 plus Google Fi (I have never tested the unlocked Pixels on Sprint with a non-TNX account, they may require a TNX swap), not just T-Mobile and Sprint. I can also unlock the bootloader as well, so it's confirmed done and Google recognizes it's unlocked just like my 7 but I still get the limited eSIM choices.
Is my eSIM still "locked" or is this just a nuisance issue because of the T-Mobile configuration and it's just a coincidental remnant of getting it carrier-locked due to the ROM? It still happens after a factory reset.

-I have a Pixel 6a I originally bought for parts due to a financing issue mentioned in the listing because I know those phones tend to die due to a past-due balance. I www told the IMEI was clean so I got it setup on my 2nd phone number and did the 14-day/$100 balance unlock process. I put a dead AT&T test SIM in it and it took it so I can indeed confirm the physical SIM is unlocked but this is weird; I no longer get the "carrier not supported" error so I'm encouraged it's unlocked, but normally unlocked Pixels show the big 3 plus Google Fi (I have never tested these unlocked phones on Sprint with a non-TNX'd account, as I refused to pay for service through Sprint due to their device locking nonsense), not just T-Mobile and Sprint. I can also unlock the bootloader as well, so it's confirmed done and Google recognizes it's unlocked just like my 7 but I still get the limited eSIM choices.
-Is my eSIM still "locked" or is this just a nuisance issue because it was locked to T-Mobile and it's just a consequence of getting it carrier-locked due to the ROM? It still happens after a factory reset.

Is the eSIM still carrier locked?

텍스트:

I have a Pixel 6a I originally bought for parts due to a financing issue mentioned in the listing because I know those phones tend to die due to a past-due balance. However, before abandoning it to the parts bin due to how new it is I checked with T-Mobile (who originally sold it and carrier locked it -_-) and they said it was clean so I got it setup on my 2nd phone number, did the 14 day/$100 balance process and got it unlocked :-). It's all there, outside of 1 odd issue with the eSIM:
Ex T-Mo 6a (T-Mobile ROM):

My factory unlocked P7 (Google ROM, hence no Sprint reference):
