I had the same problem for years. The tube that feeds the water into the ice maker kept freezing up. I tried all of the above suggestions and probably more but it always kept happening. Then I finally realized the problem was that the cold air was blowing directly on the feed tube. So I cut a foam pool noodle to size and slid it over the feed tube as insulation. I also sealed it up using electrical tape just to keep it in place and some added protection from the blasting cold air. After 3 yrs of struggling, this finally fixed it! Very poor design by Whirlpool IMO but I finally found the fix. Give it a try.
