Hi all, my first question and thanks for all the post I've read so far, great knowledge base!
My LapTop - Powerbook G4 17" 1.67 - A1139
My original HD failed, purchased 2 identical Samsung-HM160HC-PATA/IDE- Spinpoint M5, replaced original with new and checked system, all fine, OS X installed via FireWire connected External HD, and sucsess working like a charme.
Aim with the 2nd HD is a RAID configuration for no other reason then trying it out!
Installed 2nd HD into - 12.7 mm Optical Bay ATA Hard Drive Enclosure (for PATA Drives) - replacing the Superdrive using the existing cable loom that was attached to to SuperDrive to connect up new HD to LocicBoard.
Reconnected External HD again to boot on but no show of any of my 3 connected HD's, Target Disk don't work either in this set up!
I have redone this procedure 3 times now without sucess but can get everything working with single HD and SuperDrive attached, original Powerbook configuration.
My question is, do I need to use a jumper to set the 2nd HD to Slave (both HD's came without jumpers) or is there something else I am not seeing to make this work?
Cheers in advance, is driving me nuts not being able to do what others seem to be able to do.
Regards
Urs
