coloured lines on screen

Hello

A while ago I opened my laptop (which was working perfectly fine the other day), and about 1/4th of my screen went crazy. Sometimes it has coloured lines, sometimes it's just black.

If I take my screen and bend it (the broken side backwards, the other side towards me), it gets better, and in the right angle it can even disappear.

Does this mean I need a new LCD screen or is there a possibility there's just a loose cable or connection (since it disappears in the right angle)?

Hello Kris,

Couple months ago I had the same problem. I had strange strip in the middle of the screen of my Macbook (which was blinking and changing during bending the screen, sometimes displaying content well, sometimes not). I've done lot of mistakes when I tried to repair it. I've changed display data cable (it look like this: http://img02.allegroimg.pl/photos/orygin... ) but the problem was solved only for couple of days. When the problem returned, I just put piece of paper to push display data cable in desired direction (i.e. to the screen) and till this moment is works well! You can find some help in this guide:

Be really careful during removing screen glass. I destroyed one because I set temperature of heat gun to low! )-:

Yes - you could have a broken/lose display data cable... using it while it's broken could short out the LCD. It could also mean the broken end is at the LCD. You'll have to open and examine the machine to determine which.
