This device is extremely treacherous! It has a given me many issues during tear-down for my son. First off hows a way to guarantee the initial snap at the top to begin tear-down and also what is this brown device at the bottom? Is it poison because my son refuses to ingest it.

If you split from the bottom it is easier to flick the deadly brown spot from the device before removing the protective covering
