Proper One Plus One Display Replacement

Hello @ifixit , is there a more step by step process to replacing the screen? I have the replacement screen (LCD + Digitizer Piece) and I have seen the break down, but how do you put it back together exactly? if I just disconnect both of the screen connectors, would I be able to use the iopener to remove the screen,or do I need to remove the other components? also after you remove the screen with the iopener? Is there a proper way to attach the screen back? what kind of adhesive to use. thanks

This is is the screen I got, there were only a few options online. I should receive it next week and will comment on the quality then. thanks

Someone told me it comes with adhesive already so I should be good to go next week. I already know how to replace the screen from studying the breakdown. I will probably do my own how to video.

p.s. I also ordered a ifix it kit for taking some of the pieces off.

I disassembled my OPO yesterday watching the teardown. It was easy for the battery and all other back stuff. I tried to remove the screen and that was a fail. My glass is broken but the LCD seems fine.

I'm about to order this one since yesterday, I'll wait for your feedback then.

How much does OPO charge to replace LCD screen?

OPO was charging me $335 to replace the screen. Their customer service is horrible, they sent me a defective product and they're refusing to replace it through warranty. Might give this a shot myself and see how it goes.

whats weird is for motherboard, they charge 230 EUR

for screen 132 Euros

for the phone - 300 EUR!

WHy the fcuk do they do that?

hello, yes I was successful in replacing the screen. If you follow the break down steps its pretty easy to put back together. if you have any questions fell free to ask. (I would say just watch the slip at the top that holds the touch digitizer cable in place at the top of the motherboard). I wasn't able to make a video because I wanted to open it and see what I was dealing with but after I opened it, it was too late and I just proceeded to following the steps.

See my comment above, rather pay a little more and buy from a more official source. The seller on AliExpress isn't trustworthy and refuses to refund/replace me for a cracked screen I received.

And tbh I dont really understand why you have to take apart the motherboard before taking the screen out. Is that really the case and if not, then this is a piece of cake.

well for me i had to take all the components out because my screen required heat to remove from the midframe, otherwise you risk damaging the internal components if you dont take them out first.

Hej guys,

This was my first repair ever and I have to admit it was a lot easier than I tought.

I used the teardown guides combined with the youtube videos and managed to make the whole proces in less than 2 hours. It looks like its gonna take forever but its the opposit than lego. Building it up takes 5 minutes.

The only problem I had was that 1 screw was broken. I had to screw right through it with a drill. Luckely I didnt touch any important stuff.

The screens you buy on amazon or on aliexpress are not the legit ones, you see it at the quality of the screen and the onscreen buttons dont lit.

But to be fairly honest it is worth the effort. I paied 65€ for a screen with toolkit.
