My phone will no longer charge, I am not sure if it is battery failure or my charging port.

This could be an issue with your charger or phone charging port, start with trying another charger. If this did not work try cleaning out the port on the phone, if it still doesn't work you will need to replace the micro USB port in your phone to do so follow this link (Samsung Ga...) to see step by step how to replace your port.
