Display works but touchscreen broken LG G2

Phone information: LG G2 4G LTE VS980

I accidentally dropped my phone today and when I picked it up, it seemed as if I hammered it. I can be sure that I dropped it on the back but there was a huge crack in the upper mid section right below the speaker. I have been dropping my phone quite a lot but I had a case on it (it was a weak thin silicone case covering just the back part). Anyways, the buttons on the back worked just fine and the device was completely functional except for the touchscreen. Even the home button, back button, and the menu button on the front was part of the touchscreen as well, so the device is pretty much useless.

Overall, I dropped my phone, there was a huge crack, touch screen does not work, but the display shows up just fine.

Question: What is broken? the digitizer or the LCD?

If I replace it, would i need to buy the digitizer, the LCD, or both?

Can I replace just the parts by getting the parts from amazon? or can you suggest me where else?

Is it better to get it fixed, buy a new one, or just replace it myself?

I never dropped my phone, but one day I had to turn my phone on its side or upside down to use the keyboard...how did this happen and how can I fix it without buying a new spend phone???

Lina Kang, what broke is the digitizer. The digitizer and LCD are fused together. Unless you have an LCD separator machine, a bunch of (L)OCA and some sort of curing station, I suggest that you purchase the complete assembly. Follow this guide for your repair. Hope this helps, good lcuk

would the lg g2 lcd replacement used in the guide fit my phone? what is GSM and CDMA?

Plus would I be able to fix it myself? I have seen many tutorials about it and I might be able to try it but Im afraid that I might break something.

Can I buy this one? I dont have the specific tools to disassemble my phone and this one comes with tools as well as adhesive. Will this one fit my phone?

Hi!

I have the same problem with mine right now. I've been looking around online and it seems like the LCD and digitizer are glued together so you'd want to buy them together. I typically buy phone parts from Amazon because it seems to be the most reliable with the most reasonable prices, but you could get them anywhere, really. I wouldn't suggest getting something cheap, but there's no need to get an expensive name-brand. If your phone is under warranty fixing it yourself will probably break it, so just make sure you're prepared for that.

I have a worst case, my LG VERIZON 4G LTE wont turn on when charging. When we were camping unfortunately slipped through a rock and smash my phone so hard. I tried turning it on but it wont work, i tried charging but no blue light blinking - still wont work. The lcd was broken bad and since it wont turn on i cant figure it out if the digitizer is broken as well. Is there any chance that my phone can be fix? I havn't used it for a month now but since it has a sentimental value I want to revive it. :(

i had dropped my lg g2 and the whole screen is messed up but it still can be cut-on i need to know how much will it be to get both the LCD and the digitizer so i can get the cheatest one so if anyone can help me that will be helpful thanks
