Vizio E5001 HDTV. Picture has horizontal line across screen. Lower screen appears to be slightly out of focus. Narrow strip across top of screen looks to be bottom of picture.
Is this an adjustment problem of hardware issue?

Wow these are some misleading amature Repair answer on this forum. Unless you are a certified tech or have many years actaully Repairs not replacing parts, shouldn't answer. I do motherboard work and I've never had a tv issue that isn't fixable . the only way I've ever replaced the whole LCD Screen itself is if it's completly shattered. I then still pull it apart , =Repair any damages backlights , resolder chips, replace ribbions and etc. Finding a compatible front glass of the layers of the screen can get tricky but it's all just a matter of proper research , self confidence and dedication. If not tech savy with a solder gun or ever messed with a board have a tech savvy buddy lend a ✋ . ///dpluda563@***gmail///.\\\com\\\ all one word no symbols I use to avoid spam . need help feel free to message I'll do best to lead you in the right direction.

I'm in need of some help what's the steps and binding compatible LED screen for a Vizio e70 E3
My TV has several horizontal lines and the picture struggles to come into focus , but I've found that it's only when tv is cold. Something has warped a bit from being on constantly for thousands of hours. After 5 or so minutes it warms up and picture is fine. You can actually see it getting better as time progresses. If this happens when you turn it on, wait a half hour and see. I just keep it on constantly but when theres a storm and power fails for more than 30 minutes or I forget to turn it back on after, only time it happens. Actually waiting for it now.
Same issue here, multi colored blurry image on start up, then settles down after ‘warm up’ approx 5 minutes.
What part needs replacing?
If it's a t-con issue, you could order the part from http://vizpartsdirect.com/index1.php and install it yourself to save some money.

I have a similar problem it's not a black horizontal line but a darker color line then the rest of picture. I will take picture when I get home and send it.
I have a Vizio LED TV 70" Model: M701d-A3
There is a single horizontal line across the screen that shows up in the lower aspect of the screen, extending more than 3/4 of the screen width. The line is black in color, you can see it with all TV inputs and when you pull up the menu it appears over the Menu.
How can I fix it?
I have a 42" vizio smart tv and the black horizontal line appears for 2 seconds...then picture gets blurry for 2 seconds..then it keeps repeating itself

I have a 19" vizio and it has a green line across the bottom and it constantly flickering, i have no blurring though, still great picture just the line at very bottom that won't go away. Anybody else experiencing this.
Try switching to a different outlet. I had mine connected to a bad power conditioner (Isobar) box. After I plugged it into a different outlet, it works fine now.

The top of the screen is turning dark. About 6" down from top down. Visio 65" smart.

hi thats seems to be a screen malfuction, the only possible repair is by changing the screen, i had seen this problem a lot on laptops displays and pc monitors, good luck

[image|1650343] i unpluged it and moved it to a different outlet. It cleared the screen up enough to let me factory reset it. But now there is a black horizontal line across the botom of the screen
I have a vizio e65 3c. I'm having horizontal lines on picture that roll from bottom to top. As if the vhold is off on an old school tv. Screen is not broken. I ended up taking it back and exchanging for a new one same model. After a week I was having the same issues so I took it back again and got a Hisense. I have not had a single issue with the Hisense.

I had this problem with lines then dots running horizontally across the middle of the screen. Went to reset and it solved the problem.

That wasn't the solution to my problem. Someone had posted a while back, that it was a resistor or something that they had to change out.

If it is an LG or Mitsubishi (supposedly respectable brands) or Westinghouse, Element, etc (the ones placed in displays in the middle of the aisles at most Walmart’s), my recommendation is a 12-gauge Winchester slug to the center.

Could be TAB (would most likely require a new LCD) as well as a t-con board issue. Post an image with your question so we can see what you see.

I insured my Vizio E-series 50 inch 3D TV for $8. When mine went, They replaced my TV with a Samsung HDTV. There were NO Vizio 3D TVs available, and other 3D TVs were $1800 dollars MORE for 3D. Just got a Vizio 55" smart tv have had it less then a week and lines through the picture when using YouTube. They stay even when I back out to regular tv and have to shut off tv to get rid if them.

I'm having a similar issue with a vizio sv470m. When I go to turn it on, the tv will have horizontal lines. Eventually it ends up working correctly. I just play with the buttons or unplug the power for certain amounts of time. After I get the tv working, as long as its on there are no issues with it whatsoever. Now if these simple methods don't work, ive heard it may be issue with the ribbon that connects between the board to the screen and the other board. I'm not being specific because on my model it look like the display board goes to the power board. I'm guessing its both the tcon and power board.
