my asus memo pad 7 it is not charging and when i try to turn it on it shuts of

my Ui has sopped working

you need to take off the back cover and lift off the plug for the battery and then with it disconnected you need to hold the power button on for 10 seconds to drain any power still left in the circuit. Plug the charger in and let it sit for a few seconds and then reconect the battery and hold the power button down and it should turn back on again. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s519KYT2...

The battery could possibly need to be charged or changed all together. The display screen might be bad and the reason why the tablet will not turn on. If both battery and display are in working order, the tablet's motherboard should be replaced. When replacing or repairing the battery, display screen, or motherboard; refer to the following troubleshooting page for the ASUS MeMo pad. Asus MeMO Pad HD 7 Troubleshooting

when I power the tablet up I get the Ui stopped working and the it goes back and forth trying to turn on?

This is a common problem with many phones and tablets. It often occurs when the battery has been drained too low but has been known to happen for other reasons. Opening the device and disconnnecting the battery connector for a few seconds then reconnecting it usually cures the problem.

Removing the back cover from the MeMo Pad is not going to be an option for some owners and would invalidate any warranty. If so, take it to a qualified repairer or return it to the retailer or ASUS for repair under warranty explaining the symptoms and suggesting the remedy.

One solution may be to carefully open the back using a flat screwdriver or other similar objects. Be careful not to damage the "snapping" connectors, I believe the back must make good contact with the copper "buttons" inside the device to power on.

Next, disconnect the battery from the motherboard by pulling the connector "up" from the motherboard NOT towards the battery. I use an "eyeglass/ jewelry" screwdriver to do this. Wait a few minutes (I'm typing this post as I wait) then reconnect the battery to the motherboard.

To check if this has worked, snap the back of the device back on and try to turn your device on (I know my battery still had a charge) and/or plug the device in to charge.

worked like a dream.......thanks, my son is very happy now I have fixed it after I dropped it! Thanks Josh

Nice post. Worked like a charm.

Worked like a charm. I thought it wouldn't since it was inactive for months. Thanks!

see the tiny pin hole on the edge opposite the power button? That's the reset!! You do not have to take them apart to reset them!! Just use a paper clip...hold button in for 10 to 15 seconds....release and voila! It boots up! Read your manuals, people!

Thank you for pointing out the reset button because there was no way I was going to take the back off the tablet and start fiddling round with the battery bearing in mind I bought it only 2 weeks ago.

I used a paper clip and inserted it into the reset button for 12 seconds. I then tried to restart and hey presto!

This may not be the issue but just in case...so I had the same issue and I was very disappointed because I really liked my tablet and had only had it for a little over 30 days. We have a lot of gadgets so I would plug my tablet into whatever charger was available plus I didn't know where I had put the ASUS charger. My son likes to let the tablet die and I just couldn't get it to charge so as a last resort before trying to return it I looked for the ASUS charger and noticed it says it puts out 5.2 volts versus the regular 5 volts that an average USB port charger puts out. Apparently that .2 volts mattered because as soon as I hooked it up it started charging.

Hi, Debbie IT'S MY CHILDREN'S ALSO I, FEEL HORRIBLE IT'S BEEN A MORE OR MORE../ OR, WHOMEVER KNOWS THE ANSWER... THANKS, FOR YOUR TIME..

Same, here! Yet, in my case my tablet was pre...owned.. So, No Charger for it Unfortunately!!!.. Now, looking for a 5.2 .

My, Question is when I've looked at All Chargers knowing I Don't Have The/A Asus charger ... They, say 5.0V but, a few says " 5.0 ...2.0A / 1A " So, should it read Exactly 5.2 V output... That's, what I'm gathering you mean! Recalling, before typing question I have Actually Charged it... Just, searching for "that Exact Voltage 5.2"...

THANKS, FOR YOUR TIME &, HELP... MY, CHILDREN HAVEN'T USED IT IN A MONTH... IT'S THEIRS.. I, FEEL HORRIBLE!!!!! WHOMEVER IS AVAILABLE TO RESPOND....

Thanks for your video tutorial.

May I suggest you edit in a 10 seconds demonstration on how

to unplug the battery from the MB, as that to me looks like the most

difficult bit if you don't know how to do it?

Exact same problem permanently fixed another way. Seems if the battery if left to get too low it cant recharge. Removing the batter clip worked only once for me, then never again. This is what I did...

This worked the first time for me but never again. My solution was to root the device and install "automate" to shutdown the device way before it gets too low to recharge. Hope that helps. This is how I did it...
