Only shows display backlight,

My htc only shows the display backlight,and vibrates but nothing shows apart from that.why?

I could even hear the htc log sound...but the screen remains black with backlight.

It's probably the problem of your lcd screen.

Thanks I think I just need a new lcd.

i tried to switch it on yesterday it was showing a faint image with coloured lines on the screen
