Apple's 2012 first-generation 7.9-inch iPad mini, with 16, 32, or 64 GB of storage and an A5 processor.

Lcd is non responsive

I bought a new lcd after original picture was distorted . It worked fine when I first plugged the new one in but my replacement digitalizer didn't work . Connected and disconnected both twice to confirm digitalizer was defective. The third time I plugged the lcd in it would no longer turn on ,there appears to be no damage to the lcd but it doesn't turn on.

Did you disconnect the battery when you were plugging and unplugging the LCD? If not there is a chance that the back-light circuitry may have been damaged. Try holding a bright light up to the LCD to see if there is a faint image there.

So is the lcd damaged for good?

LCD is likely fine, it's the logic board that is the issue. There may be a filter or diode blown on it from plugging the LCD in while the iPad is on. Jessa would be the expert on those issues and like she said google will help fill you in on what happened and what can be done.

So can this also happen with digitalizer because I just tried it again and lcd turned on fine but digitalizer was stil not working ... Do I just get a new digitalizer?

It's possible that the cable on the digitizer is damaged. Could be that the digitizer cable is bent to far or pinched in between the glass and the chassis. Go to you tube and search for iPad mini digitizer replacement. Check out the iCracked video , it's 52 minutes long but it shows how to properly fold the cable at the 47 minute mark.

Can the back light thing affect the digitalizer or can it just be solved with a new digitalizer?

Abraham--this is classic iPad mini backlight fuse problem. Google will tell you more than you ever wanted to know about iPad mini backlight failure. Definitely repairable though.

Abraham--not sure if it makes a difference to you or not, but "digitizer" is the right term. With no touch at all, I would suspect damage to the digitizer OC connector on the board. Take a close look at the connector. You should not see any missing gold pins

I checked they're all intact ....does that just mean I have to get a new digitizer ?

Thank you your advise has helped so much

It is rare for a new digitizer to present as completely dead, usually the defect is "ghosting" or acting of its own accord. If your is indeed dead, then yes your next step is to try a new digitizer.
