ATV 3 started to flash on off light consistantley, cannot command with remote and have tried to turn power off and restart. Keeps doing the same thing, just flashing

1: Change out your remote battery ( CR 2032 ) just in case.
2: Press MENU & DOWN arrow buttons simultaneously till the indicator light flashes rapidly.
3: Release both buttons.
- Your AppleTV will restart and continue the boot sequence.

this is not working for me. My apple TV 3rd generation, i got home and see it keep flashing, maybe it auto update or something, I tried many way, can not control the apple TV anymore. The white light keep flashing.
My TV screen display no signal.
I can not search apple TV in my wireless network.

I had a 2nd-gen AppleTV do the same (flash & non-responsive) thing to me a couple years ago. It is now a nice paperweight. Sorry that didn't help, but not all electronic devices will last forever :(

mine has started doing this as well. I read on linr that I had to get a micro
-usb cord to take my apple tv back to factory via my computer. I inquired at nfuture shop and was told that the phone cord from a iphone 4s will act the same as an micro-usb cable.. I tried the restore on my computer and nothing changed. You would think some one could help
