I would like this answer and also need to know where I can purchase a new button and spring. I took my camera to a repair shop they wanted 125.00 for the repair wow It can't be that hard.
I ordered the all-metal button kit from www.Darntoothysam.com last year. It costs more than the plastic button replacement, but it's a lot more durable.
In defense of the shop that wanted $125 for the repair, they probably would do a full service, not just a quick pop in the switch. If it needs cleaning, it's not a bad price.

You can also download the repair manual on several sites. Page 45 has a blow up of the parts near the shutter button- but may not be helpful.

VERY EASY!
just order for 1,5$ th button on ebay. On the Camera turn *counter* clockwise the button support (I used pilers with some rounds of electic-tape over them to don't spoil the support. Before remove check how it was placed to reassembly correctly. When support removed install on it the kit, and reassembly turning clockwise. Easy, no need to open camera, 5 min work
