Hi,
You can factory reset your phone but this will delete all personal data from the phone memory.
Press and hold the Volume Up and the Power buttons at the same time.
From the Android System Recovery menu select - wipe data/factory reset and follow the instructions.

what if i forgot the password and it wont let me reset
This is my problem too. I can't even get to the past the password
Did it work because I did press and hold the volume up and turn the power button off in the didn't work
You have to keep holding the power and volume up with 1 hand and scroll down to factory restore with other hand with out letting go of the other buttons
