why is my screen white??
i unplugged my iPod from the computer and now it is white. i tried to reset it and it turned white and beeped 2 times. i tried to restore it and now my screen is gray

this is an indication of an LCD or logic board failure - contact Apple to get it replaced :(

IF YOUR NANO IS UNDER WARRANTY CONTACT APPLE.
If the failure is cause by water intrusion the best course may be to sell it on eBay AS-IS.
If none of above apply, you may consider a screen replacement.
Several generations of Nanos, all seem to suffer from LCD failure, "White screen of death"
This can sometimes be fixed by an LCD screen replacement.
Fortunately, on the 4th gen Nano, this is a relatively simple, but should only be attempted by an experienced technician.

Replacement screens may be purchased on eBay for ~$10.

Why is my panasonic screen white?
Have you cleaned the base and phone connectors? They can get pretty dusty and grimy and may cause that shortage
