The ONLY way to remove the CPU and GPU is with a decent BGA infrared rework station , and you'll have to be experienced using one of these. Buying one of these machines does not ensure you that you will be able to successfully remove and replace the chip , this type of advanced soldering can take months or years to perfect.

CPU and GPU have Ball Grid Array design connecting the chip via solder spheres to the board. Most chips have at least 240 solder ball spheres underneath.

Plus , if you are trying to upgrade the processor most of the time this is limited availability to work with because they must have the same type of thermal design and wattage output as the original, which intel usually makes 1 or 2 chips within the same specifications.

Removing the glue is not going make it possible to lift the chip , Boy would that be Great!

Thanks for help. That simply doen´t worth the expense. But out of curiosity is there some brand of BGA infrared rework station you have good experience with?

Edit:

And without the infrared station I don´t have a chance? Regular temperature controlled iron can´t be used for this operation e.g. Weller WEL.WS81 or hot air station like this one: TMT-HA300 Thermalthonics ?

Not a chance with that Weller soldering iron, you can attempt with hot air station but by that time you will need preheater and correct profile countless hours of practice to not pull pads with a hot air setup.

This is what I have access to and it's not cheap :)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wbya6Mqv... These are not purchased for one time use by the way . Also the guy in the video says "remove easy", the machine works great but you still need many hours of practice , soldering is an art not just a skill.

Really unless your machine has a confirmed bad GPU there should be no reason to replace it , upgrading by bga rework will cost more than upgraded model laptop.

for all cpu you would want to use thermal compound glue. It keep CPU from over heating.

Ok but I would need to know how do I get the CPU out of motherboard. Do I use the heat gun, isopropyl or something else?

No there are a clip that have the heat sink on top, once remove them then you can be able to pull the level that is holding the CPU. but you don't need to remove cpu but heat sink and put past on top of cpu.

Thank you for your answers, but I probably didn´t express myself properly. I don´t want to apply thermal paste on the cpu. I have faulty motherboard and probably functioning cpu and nvidia gpu. So I would like to buy just motherboard (without these chips so it´s cheaper), take them out of the faulty motherboard and get them to the new one. But they are glued to the motherboard and I don´t want to damage them.

So is there some secure way how to get them out ?
