Is it possible to install a higher quality 3rd party camera to the Nokia e71?

Not true. I have seen with my own eyes one with upgraded with my Camera. I did not think it was worth the sticker price. Thank you anyway.

Looks like I had the same question - I wondered if a camera part from a Nokia E72 (with a 5 MP camera) would be compatible with a Nokia E71 motherboard (which takes a 3.2 MP camera).

I'm not sure if this is 100% possible.
What you are talking about is a variant of your phone called the E71i.
This model had a 5MP upgraded camera.
So
a) you need to find an E71i camera
b) the regular E71 needs to be able to physically handle it
c) you heed to somehow modify the E71i firmware to be able to be installed on the regular E71.
