How to fix a startup error loop?

As I start up the laptop the normal startup screen appears but says preparing automatic repair, then is followed by a blue screen which says," your pc ran into a problem and needs to restart. We're just collection some error info, and then we'll restart it for you", this is followed by another message which only appear for a split second so it is unreadable. This problem is on a continuous loop, how can I solve this problem?, as I have important work on this device that can not be lost!
