Why is my screen not responding?

No matter what I do the screen does not seem to do anything. I have tried restarting my device but it still doesn't do anything when I swipe.

Sounds like the digitizer (the screen you touch to work with the tablet) is malfunctioning, you may need to replace it by following this guide.
