@xv2stdrodz60 , Daniel, Find 1st link below a step by step write up on strut replacement for Ford Thunderbird and 2nd link not your model but will show what is involved in general when changing struts.
Consider using quick strut assy. when replacing to save time and some dangers(dismantling strut under spring load) etc. Good luck.
