Rear Red Flashing Light

After trying the numerous different possible solutions I have found on the interwebs, I have not been able to solve this problem. After inserting a fully charged, known good battery into the camera, after hitting the power button all I seem to get is a flashing red light on the back of the camera. As mentioned, I have tried all the different hocus pocus solutions I have been able to find but to no avail. Any ideas before I send it in for repair?

Hello keith, i had this problem once before on my first hero 3 BE. i eventually had to send it in to repair for overheating. But, once thing that seemed to work for a little bit, i put it in dry rice, in the freezer for a couple days, only meant to be overnight but i got distracted. i also used Wasabi brand batteries and that may have been an issue as well, i never had any luck with gopro batteries before.

Dry rice is an urban legend. You got lucky and the device dried out on its own, and cooled down in the freezer.

i used the rice in the freezer to keep the humidity down around the camera so it wouldnt freeze on the board and crack something. but thanks for the downvote.
