Backlight out, can see with flashlight and changed inverter didnt fix.

I have a samsung 32" lcd tv model number LN32D450G1D. On day the backlight just stopped working everything else still works and can see the image on my screen with a flashlight. I bought a backlight inverter and switched it out with no fix. What else could be the problem? Also when I turn the tv on the power button blinks 5 times. I checked all the capacitors and none looked damaged or bulged also all the wiring looks good.

Thanks for the help

I Just replaced the main board with no fix this past weekend. So far I've replaced the back light inverter and i'm not able to replaced the t-con board due to it being part of the actual lcd panel, which i don't think is the issue because doesn't have any t-con board symptoms, All I have left to replace would be the power supply is which I am guessing is the problem. I did a test where I unplugged the main board and then plugged the Television back in and the back light blinked for a second when i powered it on so I know it is being recognized. I'll replace the power supply next weekend if I could get the right price and give an update.

@mick72391 Samsung TV's blink but Samsung does not use blink codes for troubleshooting. Your case sounds like your TV is not getting a signal to turn the inverter on. Post some images of all of your boards and how they interconnect with your question, that way we can see what you see. Use this guide 기존 질문에 이미지 추가하기 for that.Check on your main board (the one with all the video input connections) for connector CN201. Check the voltages as follows:

1 B5 V

2 SW_POWER

3 B5 V

4 A5 V

5 GND

6 GND

7 B12VS

8 GND

9 B12VS

10 SW_INVERTER

11 B13 V

12 NC

13 B13 V

14 PWM_DIMM

If you do not show the voltages your issue could very well be with the power board.

Update (09/24/23)

Going back to this TV as it seems to still be unresolved (or maybe it never got resolved but went to the bin) Anyhow, since the flashlight test was positive and the power output is appropriate, the issues will be the backlight strips. Those can be connected in series. That means if a single LED fails, it will keep the complete backlight strip from lighting up. You can measure the voltage on the LED output connector. Measure with the LED connected and then measure with the LED's disconnected. If both of those values are high, then it is the LED array that has failed. This diagnostic got missed 5 years ago :-) If we could have seen the images of those boards, we could identify the proper voltages etc. That is one of the drawbacks of remote repair. We always need to see what we need to measure.

I had the same problem. Replacing power board fixed the issue. Hope this helps.

Hello. I read SW_INVERTER to be 0.036V, which I consider very low. Do you know the correct voltage?

@manosgouzi93790 what exact model TV is your TV and what is going on with it? Some of those lines will be signal lines. Test the voltages while you turn your TV on and see if it starts high and goes low etc.
